Thursday, 21 December, 2006I’ve been missing these colours after 6 years in Australia. Dulux suede effects paint on the feature walls helps, but I prefer it natural. Only 2 weeks long this year was the autumn. How will climate change affect the seasons. Vibrant autumnal colours are normally associated with lots of sun & low temperatures. I guess as climate chnage kicks in we’ll have more things to worry about than the colours of autumn .
Summer sun and dark skies

Bailing the straw. We stopped for a few minutes to enjoy the fantastic light and texture. Truly the ‘golden hour’
Onlookers

Youngsters enjoying the specatcle. The flag on the shirt is an England one. Symbolised our public apathy in the face of a war to which we are contributing, massively.
Two sides of society

People protesting the invasion and destruction of Lebanon, others working Saturday, marketing expensive real estate. Shop windows are excellent for conveying multiple stories in an image.
Snow etching

View from Striding Edge to Red Tarn, Helvellyn. Etching the hills, flattening the moors, exposing the streams. Abstract balance in nature is everywhere you look, made overt by light snow falls. I wish there was a group of walkers to give it perspective, but in an abstract form , it’s pleasent enough
Helvellyn, winter gatherings of Lowry people

Match-stick people and their dogs on top of Helvellyn, the day Pink walked a snowed up Striding Edge in his gumboots. The eye follows the people into the picture.
